Reds game

We had a great time this weekend with Jeremy and Renee and the game was fun for everyone for about an hour when I had to leave with a screaming and crying little girl. Can't wait to see you guys again in July!

If only she had more hair

Nothing exciting about these pictures, just thought they were cute. Madeline came home today with Ninah's headband and since she wants to be exactly like her big cousin she didn't put it down all night, proudly showing it off and smiling at how pretty she looked.

AJ Cohen Tournament

The tournament this weekend was a big success. It was exhausting but all the hard work we (mostly Jon) put into it really paid off. We raised a lot of money and hopefully had an impact on some families regarding the fire prevention program.

Madeline came with me on Friday night and loved watching the games. She loved cheering along with the crowd and all the noises of the game. Guess that bodes well with our plans to go to a Reds game this coming weekend with Jeremy and Renee.

Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a great Easter today...although Mom I know you were sleeping all day. We were very busy. Madeline got a visit from the Easter Bunny which left her a basket stocked full of stickers, stamps, bubbles, chapstick (yes she loves chapstick), M&Ms, etc.

There is nothing like a mouthful of chocolate at 9am in the morning to start the day off right.

After a lazy afternoon around the house it was off to the Lipperts for an Easter Egg hunt and dinner.

With Holland, Tre and Lily...

Gotta love the bubbles...

Running around with Ninah...

I swear Jon and I were both in attendance although you'd never know it by pictures as I just realized tonight I don't have a single one either of us in the bunch.

Lastly, here's a great video of her with the ponies/horses. Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Dying Easter Eggs

We did the whole Easter Egg thing tonight. Plans to do them earlier this week somehow got lost. Madeline seemed to enjoy herself, losing all equipment soon after we began using her hands to pull the eggs in and out. Needless to say we won't be eating these eggs as they are all cracked or smashed up at this point. She also apparently likes the taste of vinegar as she thought the dye mixtures tasted yummy!

Helmet's away!

This is Madeline's cute pink helmet for riding the pony. Yes it's a bike helmet, but you should see how much a horse riding helmet is! I figured this would do considering she's not even two yet!!

It's taking her some getting used to, but safety first.

Lightning does strike twice

Who would have thought it could happen twice? This is what we woke up to Tuesday morning. The second break-in in our driveway in six months. The people who hit up my car probably remembered to come back to our house since they got so much loot from my Moutaineer last year. The window was fixed before we even got home from work, but I'm sad to say I'm really going to miss the Navigation System that was taken.

I guess the "smart" criminals (if that isn't an oxymoron) come to the nice neighborhoods, but getting us twice...ouch :(

This Explains a Lot

After a recent comment from one of our sitters, I was prompted to video Madeline while she was eating. Our sitter, Mary who has watched dozens of kids over the years was telling me she has never seen a kid eat like Madeline. She loves to dip things and mix her flavors together. And I assumed every kid put their hotdogs in applesauce.

This may appear to be a slightly boring video, but it actually explains a lot. Please take note of the following:
  1. Her fabulous sense of style evidenced by her choice of attire at 8:00 a.m.
  2. When watching this video, Madeline yelled at herself for banging her spoon on bowl which is a known No-No at the table, showing me that as much as she tries to act like she doesn't know better...she really does.
  3. See the waving of the spoon...explains the yogurt I found on the wall last week.

Introducting Ariel and Peach

The chickens finally arrived yesterday so it was a tornado of activity at what I am now calling Lippert Farm. Their names are Ariel and Peach, chosen carefully by the kids of course, and I have to say they are pretty cute...as far as chickens go. Their new home is an adorable pink coop...because what other color would it be!

The kids actually crawled right into the coop with the chickens and after a little hesitation Madeline joined in. She's braver than me because I wouldn't have crawled in there with them. Needless to say she had a long, hot bath when we got home!
